City to City Inverness to St Andrews We leave Inverness heading south through Cairngorm National Park. Depending on your priorities we have a choice of visits on the route south. You can undertake a tour and taste at Dalwhinnie Distillery (the highest distillery in Scotland), or you can visit the majestic Blair Castle & Gardens, home to the Duke of Atholl. Then we have free time in the lovely town of Pitlochry, perhaps for shopping, or perhaps a visit to the Heathergem Jewellery Centre. We resume our journey south, visiting Dunkeld on the banks of the River Tay (and one of Scotland’s most perfectly preserved historic towns). Just south of the city of Perth we turn eastwards, to reach the university town; ancient ecclesiastical capital of Scotland; and worldwide home of golf – St Andrews.
